Strange Donuts

I stopped by Strange Donuts expecting the unexpected, but I wasn’t quite prepared for a Peach Fritter with Sriracha Sauce. Curiosity got the better of me — I had to know what madness this was.

The fritter itself looked promising — golden brown, craggy, and laced with bits of peach like amber trapped in syrup. But the kicker was the Sriracha sauce, slathered across the top like someone in the kitchen had a moment of chaotic inspiration and just went with it.

I took a bite, and for a moment, my brain couldn’t decide what to think. The fritter was dense and chewy in that satisfying way a fritter should be — rich with fried dough and just enough peach to lend it some sweetness. Then the Sriracha hit — not a slow burn, but a punch right to the palate. It didn’t ruin the fritter, but it didn’t elevate it either. It felt like someone started a joke in the kitchen and forgot to write the punchline.

I followed it with a plain glazed to reset my taste buds, which delivered exactly what I hoped for — light, fluffy, and sweet in a way that doesn’t demand your attention but still deserves respect. A donut you can count on.

Strange Donuts promises weirdness, and they delivered. The fritter wasn’t bad — in fact, I respect the audacity — but it’s not something I’d crave again. Still, there’s something about a place that’s willing to throw a spicy curveball like that. Maybe that’s what keeps people coming back — the chance to stumble onto something truly unforgettable.
